Modern Riverfront Wedding | Daimler Trucks Portland Headquarters NA

Some of my favorite weddings to plan & be a part of are often at “unconventional” venues. Whether it’s a plot of land out in the Gorge or a specific rock formation on the coast, I love a good challenge.

When I met with Tanya & Trevor, they informed me that their wedding was going to be held on the lawn of the Daimler Trucks North American Headquarters building in North Portland. Theirs would be only the 2nd wedding hosted at this riverfront venue, but I was excited at the “blank slate” that offered a great backdrop for their hopes of a modern, laid-back wedding.

Tanya & Trevor’s wedding ceremony took place against a backdrop of the Fremont Bridge & Downtown Portland in the distance. Trevor’s father constructed the wooden arbor under which they exchanged their vows. To consider the heat of the summer, we chose to place our long wooden tables underneath the covered area to shield guests from the sun. We kept the “main thing the main thing” and adorned them simply with lush eucalyptus runners & assorted votives. Various photographs from throughout Trevor & Tanya’s relationship were used as table numbers for a personal touch.

Guests enjoyed drinks & delicious food from Rip City Grill. Following dinner was a refreshing dessert of Cloud City Ice Cream. The perfect relief to a very hot day. Once the bride & groom kicked off the dance floor with their first dance, the party was really going! Everyone danced the night away under the glow of the lights reflecting on the Willamette River nearby.
